Study steps
Each study has an ordered list of steps — read a passage, write notes, take a quiz, meet with your mentor, and so on. Steps unlock in groups: finish every step in the current group before the next group opens.
The study page shows current steps — what you (or your mentor, on their side) can work on right now.
Step instructions
Section titled “Step instructions”Each step shows instructions — text that may include passages, prompts, and application questions. Instructions can be tailored to your personality and learning style from your profile.
Read the instructions first, then complete any required notes or quizzes before tapping the step’s main action button.
Notes on steps
Section titled “Notes on steps”Where you write depends on whether you study alone or with a mentor:

On mentored studies, notes you write on steps are shared with your mentor as part of discipleship. General notes on the study stay private to you. Your mentor may also keep private reminders you do not see.
For write note steps when studying alone, save your note, then complete the step.
Common step types

Steps you do together
Section titled “Steps you do together”Some groups include steps for both you and your mentor at once (for example, meeting prep). You may see a waiting message on your step until your mentor finishes their part in the same group.
Quiz steps
Section titled “Quiz steps”- Answer — Work through the quiz questions.
- Auto-graded — Multiple choice and similar questions are graded automatically. If you pass and there are no essay questions, the step completes.
- Needs review — Essay-style answers need a grade step, then a review step in the same group. When you study alone, you confirm grades after Garrison suggests them; with a mentor, they grade. You then acknowledge results on the review step.
You may be able to retry a quiz if you do not pass, depending on the quiz settings.
Learning outcomes
Section titled “Learning outcomes”Some studies track learning outcomes — skills or doctrines the plan is designed to build. The study page may show progress as you complete quizzes and your mentor confirms results. Phase checkups use these evaluations.
When all steps are done
Section titled “When all steps are done”When every group is complete, the study page shows a completion message. End study sets an end date and closes out remaining steps. Your notes and log entries stay available for review.
Your mentor’s view
Section titled “Your mentor’s view”Your mentor opens your studies from their mentorship page — they see the same steps with actions meant for them (review, grade, assign track). You keep working from your own study page; you both see the same up-to-date study.
If a mentor rejects a review step, your write step reopens so you can revise, and the review step goes back to pending.
