Tracks

A track is an ordered path of study plans for mentees in a given spiritual phase. Mentors assign a published track to a mentee; progress moves through the modules you define.

Curriculum is often shaped like an hourglass: many entry paths in milk, fewer shared cores in transition and meat, then more specialized paths at higher phases. You express “funnel” vs “specialization” with tags and the track description, not a separate track type.

ActionHow
Browse and filter tracksTracks list
Create a trackNew track
Edit a trackOpen the track from the list
Manage tag labelsTrack tags
  1. Click New track.
  2. Choose the spiritual phase — mentors only see tracks that match their mentee’s current phase.
  3. Add a title and description. Use the description for prerequisites in plain language (“Complete after Foundations” or “For someone new to the faith”).
  4. Add tags so mentors can find the right track (for example, new believer, funnel, or teaching).
  5. Add modules in order (see below).
  6. Optionally attach learning outcomes at the track level.
  7. Publish when the track is ready for mentors to assign.

Each row is one published study plan on the track.

SettingWhat it means
RequiredThe mentee must finish this plan (or the mentor must explicitly skip it) before the track advances
SkippableThe mentor may assign it or skip it — useful when background varies
Mentor instructionsPrivate notes for the mentor only (for example, “Skip if already baptized”). Not shown to the mentee as lesson content

An elective is a choice slot: the mentor or mentee picks one or more studies from a pool you define.

SettingWhat it means
Title and descriptionWhat the choice is about (“Pick a Gospel book study”)
How many to pickUsually one
Who choosesMentor, mentee, or either
OptionsThe published study plans in the pool
Hints per optionOptional mentor-only notes (“Good if they want a narrative Gospel”)

Example order:

1. Foundations (required)
2. Baptism deep-dive (skippable)
3. [Elective: pick one book] → Romans, John, or Philippians
4. Gospel overview (required)

Open Track tags to create labels and short descriptions. Tags help you filter tracks in admin and help mentors browse when many tracks exist for the same phase.

Mentors assign tracks from the mentorship area of the app. An intro pairing study may end with a step that asks the mentor to choose a track.

Use the Curriculum map to confirm each phase has sensible coverage and intro plans where needed.
