Getting started

After you sign up, Garrison walks you through a short onboarding flow, then lands you on the dashboard — your home for streaks, quick logging, and starting studies.

Create an account

1. Open the web app and choose Register.
2. Enter your name, email, and password (or use a supported social login when available).
3. Verify your email if prompted — unverified accounts see a reminder on Profile until verification completes.

Church linking is optional and not required for personal study.

Onboarding

First login sends you through onboarding before the main app. The flow has four parts:

Spiritual phase and demographics

1. Spiritual phase — answered through a short question tree (not a direct Milk / Transition / Meat picker). Questions cover how long you have been saved, exposure to Bible teaching, and follow-up maturity signals. I just got saved and less than one year short-circuit to Milk.
2. Birth month and year — used for age validation; day of month is not collected.
3. Gender — required for mentorship pairing rules later.

Study profile

Three quick questions help Garrison tailor study instructions to you:

1. Personality focus — task-oriented vs people-oriented.
2. Learning style — visual, auditory, reading/writing, or hands-on.
3. Study motivation — what tends to drive you to study.

Each field offers I’m not sure. If you choose that on any field, onboarding asks a few follow-up questions until Garrison can suggest a value.

Review and finish

Confirm your spiritual phase, birth month/year, gender, and profile fields, then submit. You can update most study profile fields later on Profile.

Note

After a mentor promotes your phase through a checkup study, spiritual phase may become locked on your profile. Other profile fields remain editable.

Dashboard

The home page shows:

Quick log	Save a log entry without opening a full study first
All studies	List of your open and ended studies
Mentorship banner	Shown for Milk users without an active mentor — links to invite flow
Mentees widget	Shown when you mentor others (see Mentors docs)

Study suggestions may appear on the dashboard and new-study screen — ideas to help you pick a method and focus.

Profile

Open Profile from the app menu to manage:

Study profile	Personality, learning style, motivation, spiritual phase (unless locked), birth date, gender
Delete account	Permanent removal (requires password confirmation)
