Individuals and mentees

Individuals use Garrison for personal Bible study without a church account. Mentees are learners in an active mentorship pairing — you still own your studies, but your mentor guides you through certain steps and may assign a discipleship track.

You do not need a church to use Garrison.

How studies fit together

A few ideas are easy to mix up:

Term	What it means
Study	A Bible book, topic, guided course, or track module you work through over time. It stays open until you finish or choose to end it.
Study step	One task in your study — read a passage, write notes, take a quiz, and so on. Steps unlock in groups: finish the current group before the next one opens.
Log entry	A short record that you studied (what you did and when). Builds your streak; you do not need to write a full note.
Note	Optional journaling with rich text. Can belong to a study, a log entry, or a specific step.

Studying on your own vs with a mentor

Each study is either on your own or with a mentor — not both at once.

Milk-phase book studies require an active mentor and always run with mentor involvement. In later phases you may study alone or with a mentor, depending on the study.
